Great Wall Mongolian BBQ is a Tulsa staple. Even though language is a mild barrier- the process is easy; pick your meat(s), it arrives in frozen slices in your bowl, then load it up This may not sound super appealing at first, but trust me. It gets better.Take your bowl, now loaded with veggies, oils, and sauces to the Wok area. You'll be asked if you'd like it "spicy". If you're up for it, the spicy sauce you're being offered is real good stuff.Your bowl will be taken, and the contents will be fried on the wok in front of your eyes. Just like the sign says, "Watch Leon Wok". The man frying it up isn't actually Leon, as ownership changed around 2001. But it's fun to talk about the mythic "Leon", nevertheless. You will also be served your choice of egg drop, or hot and spicy soup(I think their egg drop is excellent), and egg roll, white rice, and their unbelievable Sesame Biscuits.Sadly, Great Wall appears to have lost their lease, and will not be in business after the end of 2013. In fact, you've got until the end of the day on 12/27/13- so you'd better get there quick. This is only place in Tulsa for legit Mongolian BBQ. The other places are useless in comparison.

Rather disappointing that there were not enough clear instructions on how to proceed and that the meat is brought to you for you to fill up. There was no one at the grill when we left our bowls and didn't know if they would ring a bell or smack a gong to let us know...but they didn't. We went up to retrieve our orders. Probably the most disturbing part of our dinner was the hostess who barked at us to sit down while she was conversing in her native tongue to other diners.

These folks are some of the nicest restaurant owners in town. We eat out a LOT, and the Great Wall is one of our favorites. Extraordinary choice in vegetables for the Mongolian BBQ, always fresh and delicious. Spices are wonderful. Meat is always top rate. Every once in a while I order from the menu and the cook has never failed me yet. I would -- and often do -- pay half again as much as they charge me. And the portions are such that we always have a 'doggie box' to take home.

Best Chinese restaurant in town! And lovely service. The General Tso's chicken rivals ones from Chinatown in NY. And the pork fried rice is addicting. I had swore off Chinese after moving to Tulsa but my faith was restored after eating there for many lunches!

February 1999, The Great Wall is a standout. Not only is the naturally spiced, plentifully served, and wonderful variety of Chinese food a great value, but the waitstaff is gracious and truly "at your service." Lunches range from $5.50 for delicious mandarin bar-b-que, to all-you ...?

I have to say first that I don't know what restaurant the "Better in the old days" commenter is talking about, because I've been eating at the Great Wall for years and never even seen any member of the staff bring their children in. The staff is always dressed very professionally, and although they do tend to have some difficulty understanding English, they are all very friendly and patient. The food is absolutely second to none, however, and surprisingly the thing that people will remember most about the meal is something that tends to get overlooked - the rice. Their fried rice has a flavor and texture that approach perfection. The food is always very fresh, fried foods retain their crunch despite sauce, and vegetables are crisp. And their prices are reminiscent not of a sit-down oriental restaurant, but a drive-thru! Magnificent.?
